Recently, Political Leader of your party, the United Workers Party, Hon. Lennox Linton, Member of Parliament for the Marigot constituency, was in Denver, Colorado, in the United States, on a trip to thank several donors who were responsible for the shipment and delivery of over US$400,000 in relief supplies to Dominica following the passage of Hurricane Maria. Leader Linton expressed his profound gratitude to several city and business leaders on behalf of the people of Dominica.
While in Denver, Leader Linton also had the opportunity to visit prominent business persons at the forefront of the medical marijuana industry, an industry we believe is taylormade for us to capitalize on in Dominica, bringing significant foreign exchange earnings when properly implimented, as your Team Dominica administration would like to do. We believe the industry holds great promise economically for us, as it has been in Colorado, a state where marijuana has been legalized for both private use and medicinal purposes. Leader Linton toured plants while in Colorado and he came away with a better idea as to how it can be implemented here in Dominica as well as the economic potential the budding industry holds for us.
What do you think? Let us know what you think of the idea of establishing a similar industry here in Dominica and what reservations, if any, do you have. We'd like your opinion.
